Project Memphis

In recent years, hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees and internally displaced peoples have returned to their homes to attempt a new beginning.

After a decade of unrest, the challenges these families face are staggering: ransacked homes, sky-rocketing inflation, joblessness, and shattered infrastructure. One such brave returnee is a mother of five. Her village is not the same as the one she remembers from when she was just a young bride. But today she is looking upon her community with new eyes of hope.

When we inquired as to how we could best come alongside her and her people, she replied without hesitancy, “Education! Our children’s future is being lost. If you want to invest into the future of our people, we have to start with our children.”

Bridge Builders Network is privileged to respond to this need with implementing Project Memphis. As of June 2021, we have opened the doors to a new grade 1 elementary school in this village.

We are affectionately naming its location Memphis.  Our longing is that just as the cities of Memphis (both the ancient and modern) have risen to places of prominence and opportunity, that this small seed may be an investment into a future for these children. 75 students will finally receive their first academic building blocks in hopes of shaping their tomorrow. In additional to its educational impact, Project Memphis will also be addressing food insecurities of some of the most vulnerable within the community.

Where food sustains today, education ensures their tomorrow. By joining us in supporting these initiatives you are offering opportunity, dignity, provision, and hope.

With eyes full of great expectation, our dear friend is embracing a heart of compassion for the vulnerable and seeking how she might shine her light for her own beloved people whose world has been dimmed. It is our desire to demonstrate our love in both word and action. You can make a difference by a commitment to financially support Project Memphis through a reoccurring donation or a one-time gift. Would you consider how you might impact these little one’s lives!

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Gal 6:9
